Known as the “Pearl of Africa,'' Uganda is a fertile and well watered country. In a population of over 49 million people, approximately 3-5% are evangelical Christians, or approximately 2 million (2014 census had this much higher but included Catholic, Anglican, and other religions).
Uganda has worked hard to recover from the devastation of the Amin and Obote years and has made great strides to this effect. New Bible translations have been published and distributed by the thousands but so much more can still be done!
For the past 12 years, Long Hollow has sent a team of medical professionals to host a medical clinic in villages of Uganda. Each year the team serves 1500-2000 individuals throughout the week with basic medical, dental, and vision care. The team will serve individuals in the community of Kikinene, the children of Redeemed Christian School, and local church members. If you'd like to use your medical skills to serve those who otherwise would not receive medical care, this trip is a great one to join.
